Healthy Units In Good Standing
All local PTA and PTSA units in Alaska have mandatory annual requirements that need to be completed to maintain a valid charter with Alaska PTA and National PTA and to maintain their tax-exempt 501c3 nonprofit status with the IRS. Additionally the State of Alaska has nonprofit requirements for local units to be able to conduct business in the State of Alaska as a nonprofit.
It is important to remember that all PTAs and PTSAs are a business, a nonprofit business. We have the duty and responsibility to follow the laws and regulations of the State of Alaska, the United States (IRS), and National PTA and Alaska PTA charter requirements.
